Excel is a hands-on window tint and paint protection shop at 115 Sourwood Ln E in Groveland. Felix opened Excel in 2014 and still works on the cars himself, side by side with his son. When you call, you talk to the person who will install your film.

What to know before you book
How much does window tint cost in Groveland?
Our ceramic tint for a sedan's four side windows and rear glass is $379 installed, with a lifetime warranty on the film. SUVs, trucks and minivans have more glass and bigger, curvier back windows, so we quote those by text once we know the year, make and model.
Cheap tint is cheap for a reason. Dyed film turns purple, bubbles and peels in a few Florida summers, and removing it costs more than doing it right the first time. Ceramic film doesn't fade, doesn't interfere with your phone or GPS, and rejects far more heat at the same shade.
How dark can you tint your windows in Florida?
Florida law is simple once you know your vehicle type:
- Cars (sedans, coupes): front side windows must let in more than 28% of light, back side and rear windows more than 15%.
- SUVs, trucks and vans: front sides more than 28%, back sides and rear more than 6%.
- Windshield: non-reflective tint only above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

Paint protection film or ceramic coating?
They do different jobs. Paint protection film is a clear urethane layer that takes the hit from rock chips, sand and road debris, and light scratches heal with heat. Ceramic coating is a hard, glossy layer that makes water, bugs and grime slide off so the car stays cleaner and washes in half the time.
Many of our customers put PPF on the front end, where chips happen, and ceramic coating on the rest. Send a photo and Felix will tell you honestly what your car and your commute need.
Why Florida is hard on paint
Between the Turnpike, SR-50 and the construction traffic in every new South Lake subdivision, front ends pick up rock chips fast. Add lovebug season in May and September, afternoon storms that leave water spots, and sun that oxidizes clear coat, and unprotected paint ages years ahead of the car.

Most of what comes through our bay is daily drivers and weekend cars: Teslas, Tacomas, Tahoes, Mustangs and the odd Ferrari or McLaren.
